“Elevator to the Moon” by The Rays

The Rays were a “one hit wonder” band from the eighties, popular in the Philadelphia region. Members included Pat MacMullin, vocals; Austin Barclay, lead guitar; Dennis Hammond, bass guitar; Reuben Cafferty, keyboard; and Larry Flinchbaugh, drummer.

Listen to The Rays play their hit, “Elevator to the Moon,” featured prominently in the book Special Risk.

The Rays are fondly remembered by their fans, but disbanded early in the 1990s. They came together to play for the wedding of their manager, Frank DelVecchio, in Atlantic City in 2009.
