Welcome to July, where the cool temps are only at night and the sun likes to play hide and seek with the rain. The rain doesn’t cool anything off, it just helps to create more steam. Below is what it looks like when I go outside, so the best thing to do is stay indoors in the cool, right?

My best option is to hang out at my desk, working on the edits for Book 3. I hope to have the book ready for beta readers soon, but right now there’s still a lot of work for me to do. I’m also looking forward to the fall and joining the Chocolate Town Book Fest on October 4th to meet readers and sign books. I hope to see you there and I hope it’s a little cooler!
I still manage to keep tabs on the wildlife in our front and back yards. I go out early, before the temperatures hit cooking level. This month it was birds, bees, and bunnies that kept me buzzing.

My old friend, the three-legged deer, made an appearance, as well. I’m always surprised to see him surviving, and he looks remarkably healthy these days.

When the weather gets this hot, I look for something to cool me off. Iced tea, iced coffee, ice cream. Or, as my tote bag says, “When life gives you lemons, make limoncello.” Sounds like a good idea to me, an icy cold drink from the refrigerator. What do you depend on when the heat is on?
I see the sun just came out again. It’s time to find a breezy spot where you and I can catch up on our reading. Let’s see if we can handle the heat of August and don’t forget to enjoy the journey!
